What is Open
Source ?
Open source refers to software that has its source code open to the public for usage,
modification or even improvement, for no charge. Modifying the code, however, does not allow the
person who modified it to close the code from the public.
The strong scrutiny that the code is placed under from the public ensures distinguished quality;
whereas the re-use of the code enables companies to develop larger and more complex solutions without
having to “re-invent the wheel”.
